Evergreen Advisers Inc. came together because a young financial manager was frustrated. Doug Boschert, an 8-year veteran of Smith Barney and UBS PaineWebber, didn’t like what he saw at the big brokerage house. He wanted to do things differently.

He wanted to be independent of the corporate restraints. He wanted to be able to look out for the best interest of average investors. Doug would soon discover like-minded colleagues, to form a team that continues to evolve.
